A petrol tanker on Thursday fell out of its main body and crushed a commercial bus at Asubiaro area of Osogbo.
CEOAfrica gathered that the accident was caused by the deplorable condition of the road which has been abandoned for long.
An eyewitness said that no life was lost. The accident was said to have occurred barely two minutes after the passengers in the bus disembarked due to a flat tyre.
Some residents of the area said the 33,000-litre capacity fuel tank pulled off from the vehicle when it ran into a big pothole on the road which has been left for long.
Another eyewitness, who was at the scene of the accident said the tank disengaged from the truck head while the driver was ascending the hilly road. The tank was said to have fallen on a commercial bus parked by the road side.
Some of the residents close to the scene trooped out with bowl and keg to scoop the fuel gushing out from the tanker.
But the quick arrival of the Nigerian Police and officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps prevented the situation and people were dispatched around the truck to prevent fire outbreak.
