Nestle Company has emerged the best company in environmental sustainability in Nigeria at the 7th Annual SERAs Award (Social Enterprise Reports and Award) – Nigeria’s flagship CSR Award held recently in Lagos.
Apart from Nestle, the leading nutrition, health and Wellness Company, other nominees in the same category included Shell, Total and GTBank.
Nestlé was commended for reducing its environmental footprints in Nigeria through improving environmental performance of product portfolio by reducing waste, environmentally adverse air emissions (including greenhouse gases), effluents and waste across the value chain.
According to a statement signed by Samuel Adenekan, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, Nestlé Nigeria plc, the company was particularly lauded for her commitment to evidence-based reporting of environmental key performance indicators as published in Nestlé in society: Creating Shared Value Report 2012 for Nestlé Nigeria.
