Kenyan’s contingent comprising of 364 participants in 22 disciplines is one of the biggest in this edition of the All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville.

The 364 participants contesting in the 22 disciplines on offer including boxing, athletics, squash, beach volleyball, swimming, table tennis, karate, wrestling, squash, badminton and volleyball, among others. Football, basketball (men and women) and men's volleyball failed to make it past qualification stages.

Team Kenya, executive officer, Charles Nyaberi intimated that this year, Kenya aims to surpass the 2011 performance. In Maputo, Mozambique, Kenya was sixth with a total of 50 medals (14 gold, 14 silver and 22 bronze). "The teams have been preparing well and are ready for the games. I am positive that we will represent the country well," said Nyaberi. Kenya will also not be represented in fencing and gymnastics which have no fully-fledged federations and developmental structures. The Kenya Bowling Association bowed out of the continental championships because the version on offer at the All African Games is different from the one practiced in Kenya.
