Kenya: Papa Dennis Bags Sh 15 Million Sponsorship Deal

Kenya's fast-rising gospel singer Papa Dennis is pushing is exploits at a blistering pace.

The youngster has landed on a humongous sponsorship deal from a Dubai-based tycoon, who has promised to finance his upcoming music video to a tune of a whopping Sh15.7 million!

If everything goes according to plan, the video will make history as Kenya's most expensive music video so far.

Word Is has exclusive information that the deal was struck when the Injili hit singer visited the United Arab Emirates in July, where he had been invited to perform in a birthday party for a prominent Sheikh's daughter.

The video shoot for the song Wonder started in earnest last week in the scenic Magadi and will proceed to Dubai starting October 18.

When we asked his manager, Maliza Umaskini's Sadat Muhindi about the said deal, he said: "First of all, the sponsor, who happens to be a prominent Sheikh in the UAE, doesn't want to give his name to the media. He is doing charity in order to grow talents. He wants absolutely no publicity. Papa performed at his daughter's birthday party and he was really impressed and that's when he promised to finance his next project. Papa's dreams are becoming real."

The artiste won the Male Artiste of the Year award in the just concluded annual Mwafaka Awards.
