Under-twenty-three Eagles star, Junior Ajayi, says the team is ready for Wednesday’s Group B clash against Ghana in the football event of the 2015 All Africa Games. The Samson Siasia-led side will kick off their campaign against the defending champions after their opening day opponents Egypt pulled out.
The game presents another opportunity for the two West African foes to renew their rivalry on the football pitch again having come across each other at this level four times in the past with Nigeria leading head to head.
Siasia had earlier stated that he has players who can make the nation proud and win the gold medal for Nigeria, despite missing several key players. The former Super Eagles coach has a good record against Ghana at this level as he led the under-twenty three in 2007 to defeat Ghana three –two aggregate to qualify for the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
Ghana struggled in their opening game of this year’s AAG competition, holding an impressive looking Senegalese side to a two-two draw.
