
The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and Trade Union Congress, TUC, have jointly held apeaceful rally to drum support for the anti-corruption crusade of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The NLC and TUC Chairmen, Comrade Yekini Agunbiade, Comrade Kola Olumoh respectively who led others in a solidarity march to the Government House in Ilorin said the campaign against corruption must be intensified and sustained.
The NLC Chairman who spoke to the Kwara state correspondent of CEOAFRICA stated the rally was also done across all the states in the country. He also stated that corruption has taken manyform in Nigeria from bribery, to rigging of election which has crept the economy of the nation. He therefore advised the state government to also fight corruption.
The Unions also submitted a letter of support and an NLC FLAG to the Government of Kwara State.Governor Abudlfatah Ahmed ably represented by the State Head of Service, HajiaZarah Omar and the Chief of Staff, AlhajiWahabOlakunle for onward delivery to President Muhammadu Buhari.Agunbiade, however, called on the Federal Government to ensure that all looted funds were recovered and that all those who stole the nation’s resources are prosecuted.
The Nigeria Labour Congress chairman of Ilorin East local government area, of Kwara State Mr Oyebanji also spoke to CEOAFRICA, He stated that the rally was a success and he believes the federal government led administration by President Muhammadu Buhari will wipe out corruption totallyaway.
