Bauchi State Governor, Barrister Mohammed Abubakar, has appointed Alhaji Yakubu Mohammed as Special Adviser on Media and Communications with immediate effect.

The appointment was contained in a press release signed by the Permanent Secretary, Political Affairs, Hashimu Yakult, made available to newsmen yesterday in Bauchi.

According to the statement, the Director of Press, Government House, Alhaji Ibrahim Sani, has been relieved of his position with immediate effect.

The new SA on Media and Communications, retired from the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) in 2012. He joined the services of the NTA, Jos in 1977 as Current Affairs Producer and later held various senior management positions, among which were Controller News and Current Affairs NTA, Jos.

General Manager NTA, Bauchi, Director of News, NTA headquarters and Executive Director, Special Services, NTA headquarters before his retirement.

Born on November 11, 1953, Mohammed attended the Ahmadu Bello University, where he obtained a degree in Social Sciences.
