STEFAN FUELE, EU ENLARGEMENT COMMISSIONER
The EU Enlargement Commissioner, Stefan Fuele has declared that Moldova needs to clear the huddles on its path to building closer ties with the European Union despite the fact that it is an Eastern Partnership “front-runner.”
According to the EU commissioner who declared this yesterday in Chisinau, the constitutional reform, deep judicial reform, the fight against corruption, and improvement of the business climate “cannot wait any longer.”
Fuele was speaking in Chisinau in the company of the Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius of current EU president Lithuania where he attended an Eastern Partnership civil society forum.
Fuele however reiterated that the EU will stand by Moldova if external pressure is brought to bear to discourage its European ambitions.
