Suspected Fulani Mercenaries Kills Three in Benue Community Invasion

There was pandemonium at the Ejima community in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State yesterday when suspected Fulani mercenaries attacked the community, killing at least three people.

CEOAFRICA.com gathered that several houses and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed while many of the natives have fled their homes for safety.

News revealed that the attackers came from neighbouring Nasarawa State.

Speaking to journalists about the attack, Alhaji Audu Sule, representing Agatu state constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, said the fresh attack happened in the early hours of yesterday when the villagers were preparing to go to their farms.”

“Hundreds of Fulani mercenaries were hired by the Fulani invaders who have been attacking several communities in my local government area and we hear that they are planning to launch   further attacks from neighboring Nasarawa state.”

The lawmaker urged security agencies to come and rescue the community from the hands of those blood thirsty gunmen.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Benue Command, Deputy Superintendent Daniel Ezeala said the Commissioner of Police, Adams Audu had since deployed well armed policemen to maintain peace at the area.
