The New World Number 1, Rafael Nadal
CEOAFRICA sports desk gathered that the new world number one male tennis player emerged when the ATP tennis ranking was published few hours ago, as Rafael Nadal of Spain reclaimed the biggest spot of the ranking, pushing Serbian’s Novak Djokovic to the second position.
Raphael Nadal, who has won 10 titles since returning from a seven-month injury lay-off, gathered 11,160 points, just 40 above Djokovic.
Other ranking states that Britain’s Andy Murray is third on the log and another Spaniard, David Ferrer remain the number four, and Argentine’s Juan Martin del Potro moves up two places to fifth while the veteran Swiss Roger Federer sinks one place from sixth to seventh.
Nadal, who lost yesterday to Djokovic at the Chinal Open, has been unbeaten since Wimblendon when he was bundled out of the competition by the Belgian Steve Darcis.
