ALSCON Commissions a new water project in Akwa Ibom.

The    Nigerian subsidiary of the united company RUSAL-ALSCON, a leading global aluminium producer located at Edemaya clan has commissioned a new water project in Ediduo village, Ikot Abasi LGA, Akwa Ibom state.

It is a part of the company’s commitment to the development of its stakeholders commitments through investment in life-changing programmes which addresses the social and economic welfare of the community resident. The project is the newest among 15 water project undertaken by the company.

The programme is expected to reduce water-borne diseases prevalent in the area and to complement  the Federal Government‘s current goal of ensuring that 75% of Nigerians have access to safe drinking water by 2015 and United nations’ millelenium development goals (MDGs) and world health organisation effort to reduce the number of people who suffer from poor water supplies.
