NIGERIA POLICE APPREHENDS ZAMFARA TRADITIONAL RULER OVER ALLEDGED ROBBERY, RAPE

The Nigerian Police, Zamfara Command has disclosed to have arrested the Acting District Head of Keta Village in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara, Mainasara Yandoto, for allegedly involving in armed robbery and rape.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, DSP. Lawal Abdullahi who made this disclosure while briefing the newsmen on the incident in Gudau, the Yandoto along with three others, were part of the gang that attacked the residences of five persons in Keta Village.

The PPRO Abdullahi narrated that the gang robbed the victims of N115, 000 and foodstuff worth N100, 000 and then gang-raped the wife of their victim, Muhammad Lawali who they held hostage.

He also said that Yandoto had collected N20,000 from the gang as his share while 113,000 had been recovered so far from the gang.

The PPRO however stated that investigations are still on as one Zayyanu Amadu, Idi Namarake, Yabo Salisu and Yandoto were helping in police investigations.
