CEOAFRICA.com gathered that close to 150 intending pilgrims to the 2013 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia are stranded in Lagos.

It was discovered that those pilgrims were allegedly duped of N950,000 each earmarked for visa processing, airfares and other logistics by their travel agent.

The intending pilgrims affected from Ogun, Osun and Oyo State, couldn’t make the trip because their visas were not released to them by the agent whom they had contracted for the job.

Some of the victims expressed fear that they could miss the 2013 Hajj exercise because the Jeddah Airport will officially close today. They disclosed that the travel agency said they should pay additional N250,000 for the return ticket, which they claimed to have paid.

However, our source disclosed that the agent said those who missed their flight last Friday due to the unavailability of the visas would only pay $200 each as sanction for doing so  while those who were yet to purchase tickets would pay N160,000 to purchase a return ticket.
