CEOAFRICA gathered that a US Navy Vice-Admiral Tim Giardina, second-in-command of the US Strategic Command has been relieved of his duty following allegation of illegal gambling activities.

This was disclosed by a Navy top Spokesman, Rear Adm John Kirby who also said Vice-Adm Tim Giardina, who oversees the nation’s nuclear weapon forces, is now under investigation for illegal gambling activities.

He is said to be accused of using counterfeit gambling chips in "a significant monetary amount" at an Iowa casino.

Adm Giardina was demoted to a two-star admiral and will be reassigned pending outcome of the inquiry.
