From Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the state Electoral Commission has fixed January 18, 2014 for the council polls across the state.

Announcing this to the during a meeting with the leadership of political parties in the state, the Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed, said the sale of nomination forms to aspirants would commence on October 21 and end on November 4.

He said his commission is ready to organize credible elections in the state, as the electoral law has been translated to Hausa language, while efforts are underway to further enlighten electorate in the state.
