Torrential Rain Causes Floods in Imo State

Torrential rain rendered several families homeless yesterday in some parts of Imo State yesterday, with properties worth millions of naira destroyed.

CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the downpour which causes the flood, started at about 2 am and lasted for about four hours.

Areas like Ibeme Street, Egbu, Umuayala village, Owerri North local council area, parts of World Bank Housing Estate, Onitsha Road Industrial Area and other adjourning communities suffered heavy flooding.

Some vehicles were submerged in most of these areas while other places cannot be assessed because of the heavy rain.

Affected residents have urged that the government of  Imo State should come to their aid.
