Cholera Patients Sued UN Over Outbreak in Haiti

From Haiti, it was gathered that victims of a cholera epidemic which rocks the country have filed a lawsuit against the United Nations claiming that the peacekeepers from the world organization introduced cholera into their country in 2010.

CEOAFRICA.com discovered that lawyers of the victims are demanding compensation of $100,000 for every of the 8,000 people killed by the outbreak, and $50,000 for each of those who became ill.

Lawyers filed the suit at the US District Court in New York. They said they were left with no other option after the UN had rejected previous claims for compensation.
