The Federal Road Safety Commission in a bid to ensure an accident free Eid-el-Kabir festival warns motorists against over-speeding.
CEOAFRICA news desk gathered that the South West Commander of the FRSC, Mr. Lukas Kinya led other top officials of the commission at the commencement of the special patrol in Ile Ife.
According to Kinya, the FRSC had deployed its officials on the road to ensure that motorists obey all the traffic laws.
The zonal commander noted that observation has proved most accidents to be caused by over speeding, and also warned against drunk driving, stressing that anybody caught would be made to face the law.
“We must all do what is necessary and avoid those things which could cause accident. Don’t use your phone while driving, it is a serious offence and any driver caught will be made to face the law,” he urged.
The commander also advised passengers to ensure that any driver who would drive them was not under the influence of alcohol, adding that motorists and passengers also must also join in the war against road crashes and loss of lives on highways.
