850 Ogun residents with various eye problems had already benefited from the free eye surgeries being performed by a team of Indian medical doctors in collaboration with the state government at the State Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta.
CEOAFRICA news desk come about this from the statement by the President of the Rotary Club of Palmgrove, Lagos, Mr. Venagopal Jajoo on Thursday at the six-day Free Eye Screening and Surgical Expedition organized by the Ogun State Government in collaboration with Rotary International and Indo Eye Care Foundation.
According to Jajoo over 13,000 free eye surgical operations had been successfully performed and over 20,000 eye glasses had been distributed, since the inception of the project in 2005.
He expressed hope that the little help being rendered to the people under the free eye care project would bring about significant changes in the lives of the beneficiaries, adding that so many who regained their vision are now ready to take on the challenges of life.
