Following incessant air crashes in the country, the first son of the former governor of Oyo State, late Alhaji Lamidi Adesina, Dr Ayo Lam Adesina, has demanded the immediate sack of Stella Oduah as Minister of Civil Aviation.

Speaking on the state of nation in Ibadan on Sunday with CEOAFRICA reporter, he said that it was wrong to heap the blame on the airline and the pilot who flew the aircraft alone.

"These plane crashes that have occurred three times during her tenure, shows a clear level of incompetency on the part of the aviation minister. "It shows that we are a lawless country that does not have a policy on how airlines

should be run and what qualities and checks that should be in place before a plane can be allowed to fly, all we have is a poor policy summersault, while many innocent lives who ought to be future leaders are dying day by day, and our minister cannot give a reasonable statement on why the crashes are happening.

"If it is in a developed country, the aviation minister should have resigned or be sacked already and accept responsibility of all the plane crashes. "Government has been doing series of preliminary report after several crashed, but the question is are they implementing it?" he said.

He appealed to President Jonathan to sack Mrs Oduah with immediately effect,

stressing that the manner she is handling the sector looms ahead more danger and if this is not checked many lives will be lost again.

Lam-Adesina urged government to provide proper rules and regulation that will guide the planes before flying in order to protect the lives of its citizenry. He also commiserated with the families of the planes crash, especially Chief Olu Falae, whom he pray to God to give him the fortitude to bear the loss.

Commenting in the recent call by the Federal Government to organise a Sovereign National Conference (SNC), he describe the moves as a mere political gimmick, which will not yield any positive result if not sincerely conducted. The first son of the former Oyo State Governor said:" It is quite clear that the progressive leaders have been calling for this conference and I believe it is a good thing, but one wonders why the president is calling for it now at a time when the 2015 election is close by.

"There is an issue in respect of the time and one wonders why it should be now, I believe it’s just a political gimmick and he is not been sincere with it. I will advice him to allow the fundamental objective of the SNC to. Be respected and should not be politicised.

He noted that if there was any hidden agenda as regard the confab, then it makes mockery of its aims and objectives.
