On January 1, it was reported that YCee, the Jagaban rapper took a shot at Vector on his Instagram account as he ridiculed some lyrics off the song King Kong. Ycee had written in these words:``Yemi Alade was lokking for johnny walker had to walk.lmao! WTF is that? Punchline no be by force!

But the post was taken off almost immediately as it began to generate a whirlwind of harsh comments from Vector’s fans. Funny enough both artists won awards at the Headies award held same day.

When Naij.com spoke with Ycee on the alleged beef between him and Vector the Viper, The Jagaban crooner denied having any beef with Vector. He said: , “There is no beef between me and Vector; it was just bored bloggers/social media users cooking up stuff! Vector and I are cool; we even did a University tour together towards the end of 2015. People are bound to have arguments and fallouts. Sometimes it’s unnecessary and blown out of proportion like in the YCEE/Vector situation and sometimes it helps spice things up a little. At the end of the day, it’s all love still…no be Yankee we dey na.”

The year 2015 was really good for Omo Alhaji, another name for YCee as he recorded series of landmark despite being launched into the mainstream music industry same year. He was nominated for Revelation of the Year at the 2015 edition of the MTV Africa Music Awards. He also won a nomination in the Best Artiste in African Pop category at the 2015 All Africa Music Awards but was lucky to win the Rookie of the Year award at the 2015 Headies.
