The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authorities has announced that it will soon begin the audit of all domestic airlines to ascertain their financial condition.

The exercise has become critical in view of the recent crashes and incidents recorded in the aviation sector.

Declaring this at a briefing, the regulatory body stated that it will also shut down any airline found to owe its staff salaries, stressing that it will make the International Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) compulsory for the airlines in order to put them on the registry of International Air Transport Association (IATA) to monitor their operations globally.

Fola Akinkuotu, Director-General of NCAA, disclosed that the regulatory body will also make it mandatory for airlines to interline on a common platform in order for travelers to have flawless transfer of tickets to others when the need arises.
