Stand of Nigeria youth on National Conference!

Wed, 16 Oct 2013   ||   Nigeria,

 We are Nigeria and we are proud to be; which makes it incumbent on us to contribute to all burning issues. Firstly, I believed good things will come out of the presidential advisory committee led by senator Femi Okunnnu but ; I am convinced the presidency will not subscribed to the report, after all, the expected goal and aim had being achieved by the presidency.

Secondly, before I tell you my stand and views on this as a Nigeria youth who

believed in the unity, progress, oneness, fairness and justice of the people and project of Nigeria: I will like to remind you of The Uwais committee and its report(s), and Nuhu Ribadu committee and its report(s)  respectively. Millions of Naira was spent on these aforementioned committees and yet the candid, brain racking, and time wasting, the reports are still begging for pure and humanly implementation from the presidency, don’t you think we are going the same way with the Senator Femi Okunnu's committee? Which is the reason I will not opposed those going against it; because of the fear of lack of sincerity on the side of those that constituted the sudden Advisory committee. However, it might be the fear of lavish use of our natural resources on a deceitful agenda which is meant to serve selfish and purpose of the microscopic few within the power that be.

 Our younger brothers and sisters are at home for closed to four months which I believed that the proposed money which is to be used on national confab, if we are going the normal way of the previous committees then should be used to resolve ASUU issue,furthermore,many lives were lost from the attack of the insurgency Boko haram, poverty is the order of the day, our roads are death traps, graduate roaming the street without bearing while our resources would be spent on a committee whose report at the end of the day will be kept inside the drawer till further notice! Moreover, if you are a keen observer of the happenings in our society, you will agree with me that some months back the issue of G7 Governors/Baraje and presidency was getting tensed daily but since the introduction of National Conference everything mellow down and the polity was eased a bit. This was the supposed target of introducing National Conference. As a true Nigeria youth am looking and studying all the moves of our leaders which I make bold to say is a total contradiction of the vision of the founding fathers of Nigeria.

I will take you down the memory lane to 1960 where Alhaji Tafawa Balewa says that"the great country has now emerge without bitterness or bloodshed, finds that she must at once be ready to deal with grave international issues" the country that was built with the spirit of love, peace and unity without bloodshed or bitterness; is now full of shedding the bloods of innocent people while bitterness, deceit, lies, corruption, backwardness have their ways, above all lack of convincing direction. Our leaders should please for the sake of God the Almighty, the Nigeria youth whom they say are partners of today and leaders of tomorrow and also the sake of rule of law,should stop deceiving us and act in accordance with their oath of office.

Last but not the least, I believed that It was because of this unpredictable and nasty human characters that Aristotle says and I quote "it is more proper that law should govern than any one of the citizen; upon the same principle, If it is advantageous to place the supreme power in some particular person, they should be appointed to be only guardian and servant of the law.” Lastly, on behalf of all Nigerian youth I plead with the presidency to make sure that report(s) of senator Okunnu-led committee does not go the same way as      Mr. Nuhu Ribadu and Uwais report. We believe something good could come from the Nazareth.

On a Final note, Nigerian youth share the ideology of redefining the future of Nigeria to reshape and be confident among the committee of nations, Which truly, if done with a sincere heart will help us to move from  crawling to walking gradually, as it is better to be moving slowly rather than being stagnant.

I urge all Nigerian youth to team up and support this conference where our future, approaches and ideology to the destiny of the nation will be redefined.
