NDLEA BLOCKADES A SMUGGLER WITH 7.45KG OF COCAINE

A 39-year-old Lagos-based businessman, Asogwa Solomon Ochiabuto has been blockaded by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) from smuggling 7.45kilogramme of cocaine into the country.

The anti-drug agency office at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja made the discovery during the inward screening of passengers on-board an Ethiopian Airline flight from Brazil.

According to the report, the drug estimated at N82 million was industrially concealed inside food flasks and kitchen utensils and was also reported to be the single largest seizure recorded at the airport since January.

Mr Hamisu Lawan, NDLEA Abuja Airport Commander said the arrest was made following intensive screening by narcotic officers and the suspect, Asogwa Solomon Ochiabuto was on-board an Ethiopian Airline flight from Brazil enroute Lome, Addis Ababa to Abuja.

 The suspect was revealed to reside in Okota area of Lagos hails from Umabor town in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Mr. Lawan however reiterated the agency aim targeted at preventing drug cartels from carrying out their criminal acts this season, adding that the agency remains extra vigilant to stop the Drug barons in their daily devise of new drug trafficking tricks.
