CEOAFRICA news desk gathered a tragic bizarre that a four-year old boy, Semiu Akinwale shot himself on Tuesday with his father’s loaded gun at Iyana Bare village, Oluyole Local Government Area, Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to the report, Semiu’s father, Mr. Waheed Akinwale, who is said to be a hunter, kept the loaded gun in the room ready for the night hunt and had gone for a business within Ibadan , only to discover on his return that the son is dead.

Mr. Waheed reported the incident at Idi-Ayunre police station that he got a call from neighbours who got the news from other children in kitchen alleged to have heard the gun shot and also made the discovery first.

He also reported that the incident had happened around 9.30a.m, when his son entered his room where he kept the gun, and unfortunately pulled the triggered which eventually shot at his chest, killing him instantly.

When CEOAFRICA contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Ilobanafor, she confirmed the story, saying that the corpse of the boy had been deposited in the mortuary at State Hospital, Adeoyo, for autopsy.
