Mr and Mrs Riella
Report reaching the news desk of CEOAFRICA.com from Paraguay is that a man and a woman, who have lived together for the past 80 years, finally solemnized their union in an elaborate ceremony.
Dressed with white shirt on his wheelchair, Jose Manuel Riella, 103, finally promised to love Martina Lopez, 99, for the rest of his life.
The elaborate ceremony which was held in the couple’s garden, was attended by many of their friends and well-wishers, including their eight children, 50 grand children, 35 great-grand children and 20 great-great-grand children.
The priest who solemnized the ceremony said they were the oldest newlyweds he had ever known.
The two had already got married in a civil wedding 49 years into their relationship, but had not gone through a religious ceremony at the time.
Speaking after the ceremony, Mrs Lopez said she felt very emotional at having her relationship blessed by the priest.
The vows were followed by an entertaining party at the couple's home in Santa Rosa de Aguaray.
