The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria expressed their readiness to lift the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup ongoing in United Arab Emirates, when they brushed aside the tournament’s favourite and defending champions Mexico 6-1 in the first game of Group F played few hours ago.

The Manu Garba-tutored side got the first goal in the 33^rd minute of the lively encounter through Kelechi Iheanacho, while the second goal came through the same player in the 40^th minutes of the game.

The defending Champions then got a goal in the 42^nd minutes through Jaimes, but the ever-sparkling Iheanacho got the third goal in the second half, while Chidiebere Nwakali made it four in the 50^th minutes. Success Issac made it five for the rampaging Eaglets.

With 30 minutes to go, the irrepressible Iheanacho bagged his fourth goal. He cut in from the right side and fired a vicious strike from a long way out that Gudino got his finger-tips to, but had no chance of keeping out of the top corner to make the final score a frightening 6-1.

Up next for the impressive Nigerians is a date with Scandinavian debutants Sweden in three days’ time, when Mexico try to get things back on track against Iraq.
