The chairman governing board of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Otunba Funso Lawal has bemoaned the education system in the country.
Speaking at the annual reunion, luncheon and merit award ceremony of the Government College Ibadan Old Students' Association on Saturday, he said that things have changed compare to what it used to be in the past.
"It is a pity and unfortunate. This is not thE school we left behind. There is no doubt that the standard of education has fallen," he said.
While noting that the school was one of the best not only in Oyo State but in the country, he said were on to return the school to path of glory.
To this end, he said the association had called on the state government to return the school to the original owner for effective management.
He said the owner was ready to work and partner with the state government to return glory back to the school.Four prominent Nigerians including Lawal bagged the association's merit awards.
Others were Dr Samuel Akinwale, Mr Bolanle Ayodele and Bamidele Shittu.
