Former Ambassador, Carrington expressed confidence in Nigeria’s election into UN Security Council

CEOAFRICA gathered that following the election of Nigeria to serve as a non permanent member in the UN security council, Former Ambassador of USA to Nigeria, Mr. Walter Carrington has said it’s a great thing to have Nigeria as a member of the Security Council saying that the Nation’s voice will now be heard on international scene.

Carrington said "there are very progressive Nigerians who are involved in foreign affairs and I am very hopeful that Nigeria would be a very progressive voice in the international scene''.

According to source, the Former Ambassador who arrived at Ilorin yesterday is to deliver a lecture on the University of Ilorin 29th Founder’s day as well as Convocation ceremony today.

Ambassador Carrington was received by the Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali and other principal staff of the institution. While speaking the host vice chancellor of university of Ilorin, told newsmen that the university was happy at receiving the ex-envoy saying: “We are all excited’’.
