Kelechi Iheanacho in Action Against Sweden
The Nigerian U-17 team played a 3-3 draw against their Swedish counterparts at the ongoing 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup group F encounter.
It was the Scandinavians that got the first goal in the 10th minute when the Eaglets goalkeeper, Alampasu misjudged a cross, only for Berishah to tap in for the opener.
In the 18th minute of the encounter, Berishah made it two for the Swedish side when he benefitted from a cross to put the game at the higher level which seem beyond the reach of the Nigerians.
However, in the 22nd minute of the game, Success Isaac got the first goal for the Eaglets when he fired a ferocious shot pass the Swedish goalkeeper, only for him to be stretched-off due to injury he sustained, as the first half ended in favour of the Scandanavians.
When the second half got underway, the Eaglets started putting up efforts to get the equalizer and in the 55th minute, Yahaya’s shot was too hot to handle for the Swedish goalkeeper when the ball slipped away from his hand and entered the net.
The game looked likely to end in favour of the Eaglets who have woken from their slumber with the equalizer, only for the Swedish team to get the third goal in the 67th minute of the encounter.
The relentless Eaglets therefore got their needed equalizer when Awoniyi nodded in a cross from Iheanacho to make the game 3-3.
The Golden Eaglets will face Iraq in the last group game on Friday at the Abu Dhabi Stadium, while Sweden will battle it out with Mexico.
