The Ekiti state Chapter at the Nigeria Institute of Architects has lauded the on-going beautification projects embarked upon by the Fayemi led administration across the state.  The State President of the Institute, Architect Kunle Ifesanya who gave the commendation in Ado Ekiti during a courtesy visit to the
Commissioner for Housing, Physical Planning and Urban development, Elder Remi Olorunleke, expressed the readiness of the state chapter of the Institute to collaborate with the state Government in the efforts to transform the state. Arch. Ifesanya however charged government to establish a School of
Environmental Design at the Ekiti State University towards producing the needed manpower that would help transform the state in the area of architectural design.

He decried the high price of processing approval for building plan in the state, saying that this has contributed to the high figure of buildings without approved plans in the state. According to Ifesanya, the high processing fees and bureaucracy have hindered many developers from securing necessary approvals for their documents for many years.
The President of the institute urged government to therefore review the fees in order to encourage property owners to regularize their building plans which he said would ensure quality control and improve Internally Generated Revenue of the state.

Responding the Commissioner for Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Development, Hon. Remi Olorunleke said that the state government would welcome all collaborative efforts at moving the state to greater height, noting that the professional experience of the Institute would add value to the transformation programme of the state government. Olorunleke urged members of the institute to join hands with the state government towards ensuring the success of the on-going Urban-Renewal programme and efforts to rid the state of illegal structure.
