Boko Haram: Army raid kills 74 Borno terrorists

The Army has killed more than 70 members of the Boko Haram sect and destroyed a camp belonging the terrorists group in a
village in Borno State.

In statement, Deputy Director Army Public Relations of the 7 Division Maiduguri, Lt. Col Muhammad Dole, said, "In continuation of the ongoing
offensive operation against terrorists, the troops of 7 Division Nigerian Army destroyed another Boko Haram terrorists camp in Galangi and Kawanti villages within Mainok general area of Borno state."

Dole also revealed that the operation, which involved ground and aerial assault and was supported by Nigeria Air Force, led to the destruction of the illegal camp and the killing of 74 terrorists.

The Army spokesman said several persons fled the destroyed camp with serious injuries. Seven vehicles allegedly belonging to the insurgents were also destroyed.Two soldiers were injured during the exchange of fire.

He commended the public for complementing government efforts in fighting terror.

"The General Officer Commanding 7 Division Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Obidah Ethan appreciates the general public for their resilience and cooperation by providing timely and credible information to security agencies. General Ethan reiterates the commitment of 7 Division to ensuring safety of lives and properties of all citizens within its area of responsibility,"
