A woman in the Headlands community, Zimbabwe, committed suicide after poisoning her three children and threw their bodies into a well, CEOAFRICA.com gathered.

Enia Jinjika, 29, was reported to have attempted to set the car of her husband, Happiness Mhonda, 38.

Sources disclosed that the woman and her husband had a long-standing dispute over infidelity. The car bought from a Harare driving school was said to be at the centre of the storm.

Neighbours said Mhonda was running a village driving school offering lessons to female teachers and this did not go down well with Jinjika who accused him of having affairs with some of the students.

It was revealed that Jinjika had, at one time, assaulted a cop at Headlands Police Station, accusing her of improper liaisons with her husband.

CEOAFRICA.com further gathered that on the fateful day, the car was parked as usual near their bedroom and in a fit of rage, Jinjika poisoned her children and attempted to torch the vehicle. She had locked the bedroom door in a bid to trap her drunken husband who was inside.

According to sources, she took the lifeless bodies of her children-aged seven, four and three to a garden about 300 metres away from their homestead and threw them into a shallow well.

Further reports said Jinjika, who had also take an unspecified amount of poison, which failed to kill her, then hanged herself on a tree near their garden.

Confirming the incident, National Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi said investigations were in progress.
