From Brazil, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that a bus station in Sao Paolo was attacked by protesters who set a bus on fire and destroyed cash and ticketing machines.

The protest was due to demands that public transport should be free. High costs triggered protests in Sao Paulo in June that later spread across Brazil.

Sources revealed that Friday’s protest began with a march throughout the city that lasted for about three hours. However, violence erupted when some of the protesters attacked a bus terminal in the city centre.

The protest forced riot police to respond with tear gas and at least six people were arrested during the protest.
