Veteran Journalist Julius Nyaisanga Buried in Tanzania

From Tanzania, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that hundreds of people gathered to say fare thee well to Julius Nyaisanga, a veteran journalist who was buried in his hometown, Kemange Village.

Late Nyaisanga passed away last Sunday from diabetes, a problem that had plagued him for quite a long period. He worked with many media houses during his lifetime.

Speaking during the funeral, Press Club Chairman of Mara Region, Emmanuel Bwimbo, announced that the club would introduce a special regional journalism award that would carry the name of Nyaisanga as a sign to commemorate the legacy created by the deceased.

Furthermore, Bwimbo said the development would act as a catalyst to motivate other upcoming journalists to adhere to ethical rules and regulations as the unofficial fourth estate in the country. He added that the late Nyaisanga had paved the way for the betterment of the information firld besides being a father.

The deceased, according to him, had also exemplified good service to the nation through the pen. “He was a role model of the contemporary information world. We have none to appreciate his artistic work and award bearing his name is a sign of motivation especially to the upcoming ones in the field,” he said.

Also at the funeral, Tarima District Council Chairman, Amos Sagara described the deceased as someone who would be greatly missed by the whole district and the nation at large.

“We have indeed lost a great son of our soil and besides, we would like to extend our dearest sorrow to our loved ones countrywide and share the pain we feel together,’ he added.

The late Nyaisanga worked for the Radio Tanzania, IPP Media and Aboob Media. He is survived by three children and a wife.
