Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the Executive Governor of Oyo State has lifted a suspension order which granted on conversion from sub-professional officers to the core-professional cadres, under the Unified Local Government services of Oyo State.

CEOAFRICA news desk gathered that the decision was as a result of a strong representation made to the government by the Local Government Service Commission and in a memo addressed to the 33 local government chairmen in the state.

The memo which bore the titled Re-review of operational guidelines on lateral transfer/conversion of officers from sub-professional to core-professional cadres in the local government service was said to have been signed by the Director of Personnel on behalf of Local Government Service Commission, Mr Sunday Afolabi Aremu.

According to the report, the State Government had in a circular dated August 27, 2012 and signed by the Deputy Director of Personnel for Local Government Service Commission, Teslim Tunde Mudashiru, directed a review of placement of a sizeable number of staffers in the unified Local Government Service of Oyo State on conversion to the core-professional and sub-professional cadres.

It was gathered however that the action spurred reactions from the affected staff, while appeal and representation were made to Governor Ajimobi on the true picture and financial implication of the policy, consequently convincing the governor and leading to the review of the sections of the policy, and the eventual reverse of the policy.
