From Zambia, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that British Airways has officially closed the Zambia route last Saturday, having announced their exit a month earlier.

While the Lusaka route has been abandoned, the traffic in other countries by the giant airline has increased.

“We remain fully committed to Africa and will continue to serve East Africa with a daily service to Nairobi and a thrice weekly service to Entebbe, increasing to four times a week from the start of the summer schedule 2014,” British Airway said in a release.

British Airways suspended its three times a week service from London Heathrow to Lusaka with effect from 27th October 2013.

Passengers who were booked in advance have been given refunds with some put on alternative flights.
