From Central African Republic, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the United Nations Security Council has approved that 250 forces be deployed to the country to protect UN workers.
The approval was given in a vote by the fifteen-member Security Council yesterday. The 250-member forces will be taken from another U.N. force and will be sent to Bangui, the capital of Central African Republic.
The number could be increased to 560 troops, with some of them deployed to other parts of the Central African Republic.
The landlocked nation has been in chaos since Seleka rebels toppled President Francois Bozize in March.
