Yesterday, government troops and members of the Renamo in Mozambique renewed fresh hostility in the city of Karamaja Napome, very close to the Napula.

CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the many of the residents of the region have fled to the nearby Napula as sounds of bazooka continue to increase.

The Renamo group, a main opposition party, pulled out of the peace deal with the Frelimo party signed in 1992, due to an attack launched against its leader, Afonso Dhlakama, who escaped death by whiskers.

Since the pullout, Renamo attacked a police station in the central town of Maringue, while government official announced that the headquarters of the group in the town has been seized.

Over the past two years, both parties have pointed accused fingers against one another, as Renamo accused Frelimo of marginalization and rigging.
