CEOAFRICA.com gathered that Egyptian government has suspended a television show for poking the country’s military government.

Bassem Youssef’s television programme was suspended a week after he held the controversial edition which put him in troubled waters.

According to private CBC channel, Mr.Youssef did not follow editorial policies before going on air for the programme simply because of his greed for money. The station did not give details on how the policies were violated.

Sources revealed that last week, Mr Youssef's show took aim at the army and its chief, Gen Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. He joked about chocolate bars being made in the image of the general.

That show triggered several complaints from viewers, and Egypt's public prosecutor later ordered an investigation.

It was also revealed that Mr. Youssef was released on bail last March when he lampooned the then-President Mohammed Morsi.
