President Jorge Carlos Fonseca of Cape Verde sets to visit Angola on 4-5 this month to strengthen friendly relations and bilateral cooperation.

A release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the visit will include meeting with the Angolan Head of State, Jose Eduardo dos Santos.

The visiting president will also attend a special session at Parliament and will run a lecture at the Faculty of Law of the Agostinho Neto University.

Bilateral relations between Angola and Cape Verde date back since the early years of independence from both countries.

The bilateral ties were legally formalized only on August 30, 1997, with the signing of the General Agreement of Cooperation in Praia.
