In Colombia, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that 1,450 kg of Cocaine were seized from a speedboat in the Caribbean by the Colombian navy.

It was revealed that the navy intercepted the speedboat which left the northern town of Manaure and was heading towards the Dominican Republic. They were tipped off by the US anti-drugs agents.

According to sources, four Venezuelans and a Colombian have been detained in Tampa, Florida for being on board the speedboat.

They are expected to be charged with drug trafficking, as it was alleged that the drugs belonged to Los Urabenos, which operates in northern Colombia.

Los Urabenos is one of the groups the Colombian government calls Bacrim, short for bandas criminales (criminal gangs).

It was also revealed that the group usually uses speedboats to transport illegal drugs produced in South America to Central America, Mexico and the United States.
