Authorities in Mexico revealed that a tunnel connecting Tijuana with San Diego and California in USA was discovered recently, as 147kg of cocaine and eight tons of marijuana were recovered in the process.

According to sources, the tunnel is well-equiped with electricity, ventilation and a rail system. More than 75 such secret tunnels have been discovered since 2008.

Officials have not revealed the exact length or location of the recently finished tunnel, but Mexican media report it is near Tijuana's airport.

It was described as a just completed, highly sophisticated underground passageway.
