Meeting Between President Jonathan and ASUU Ongoing in Abuja

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is currently holding a meeting with members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at the State House, Abuja.

CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the ongoing meeting kicked off at about 2.30 pm and Mr. President’s team consists of top officials including Vice-President Namadi Sambo, the Secretary to the Federal Government Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, Supervisory Minister of Education Nyesom Wike and the Minister of Labour, Emeka Worgu. Also, Nigeria Labour Congress President, Abdulwaheed Omar was also in attendance.

Chairman of ASUU, Dr. Fagge led other members of the union to the meeting. The President of Nigerian Labour Congress, Mallam Abdulwaheed Omar was also in attendance.

Sources revealed that President Goodluck Jonathan, while exchanging pleasantries with the ASUU delegation, expressed his hope that the strike would be called off today.

‘I hope this strike will end today. Our children have suffered enough. We must find a solution,” he said.
