Jonathan bemoans late Taraba Speaker

News reaching CEOAFRICA.com is that President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday in Abuja condoled with the government and people of Taraba over the death of Mr Haruna Tsokwa, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

According to a statement issued in Abuja by Dr Reuben Abati, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Jonathan extended condolences to the family of the speaker.

“The statement said that the President received the news of Tsokwa’s death of with sadness’’.

It said that Jonathan recalled the late speaker’s commendable role in restoring political stability to Taraba after the recent crises in the state.

It said that Jonathan urged political leaders in Taraba to honour Tsokwa’s memory by ensuring that peace and order continued to reign in the state after the sad incident.

The statement further stated that the President prayed that God Almighty would comfort the late speaker’s family, his colleagues in the state legislature, his friends and political associates “as they mourn the peace-loving patriot and true democrat’’.
