Tajikistan Holds General Election as President Rakhmon Seek Another Term in Office

From Tajikistan, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the general elections are ongoing throughout the country, as incumbent President Imomali Rakhmon, seek to extend his tenure for another seven years, in accordance with the country’s constitution.

The 61-year-old President Rakhmon is contesting along with other five challengers for the post of President.

The President has been in office since 20 years ago, and if re-elected, he would be expected to improve the economic condition of the impoverished former Soviet Republic.

None of the past elections of the country was adjudged free, fair and credible by the European Union and the United States on America.
