Light House Group, a non-governmental organization, has asked Nigerians not to neglect the less-privileged people in the society.

Mr. Segun Akerele, who is the representative of the group, stated this during a charity fair and fun day organized for over 25 civil society organizations in Lagos.

Akerele affirmed that it is only the government and assistance from other well-meaning individuals that could give hope to the poor.

He said, “The NGOs are hardworking and dedicated towards their goals and objective, always ready to look at problems honestly.

“Nigerian masses must become part of the nation’s collective responsibility in other to build a better future for our generations.

“We believe that the change we are clamoring for cannot be achieved if individuals fail to lend a helping hand to the needy among us. As a group, we are calling on Nigerians to support the vision to make our country a better place.”

He noted that the charity fair served as an opportunity for the various NGOs to showcase some of their works and achievements.

Akerele also expressed the group believe that fundamental changes can only come to Nigeria through the actions of Nigerians who are recognized as the agents of change, stressing that the group are the change Nigeria have been waiting for.

“We believe that the task will be extremely difficult, but we believe that we can succeed if we draw strength and inspiration that has brought us to these extra-ordinary Nigerians we propose to support and celebrate and who are featured in the programme,” he added.
