Leaders of the Ebonyi State community resident in Anambra State have pledged to support the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Chris Ngige, in the November 16 governorship election.

The leaders of the community on Thursday constituted several committees during their meeting at Owerri Road, Onitsha to mobilise their people to support the APC candidate.

One of the leaders, Austin Igwe Edeze, who was a former Chairman, Ohoazara Local Government, Mr. Sam Igwe, and Mr. Ebele said their resolve to support Ngige was because he would be a blessing to the people if he wins, having shown sympathy to their cause when he first came in as governor in 2003.

Igwe said that with Ngige as Governor of Anambra State, there would be a restoration of dignity to the ordinary Anambra man and the Igbo nation as a whole.

He urged the Ebonyi people in Anambra to come out on Election Day and vote for the return of the governor, to guarantee sustained development and conducive atmosphere for business in the state.

Edeze, who noted that the rally was a milestone, said that Ngige deserved their support adding that he had been tested and trusted.

He also pointed out that it was only Ngige, based on his antecedent that could guarantee protection, security and representation for Ebonyi people.

Ebele in the same lane said that with Ngige as governor, the injustices suffered by the people of Ebonyi living in Anambra would be reversed.

Responding on behalf of the APC candidate, the Director for the Diaspora, Ngige Campaign Organisation, Chief Chike Nwiwu, commended the coordinators for a job well done, stressing that Ebonyi people deserved praise for their commitment to the Ngige project.
