Coach of the victorious Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, Manu Garba has dedicated the World Championship trophy won yesterday by his lads to the number one citizen of Nigeria, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and his wife, Dame Patience.

Manu Garba disclosed this shortly after the Nigerians triumphed over their Mexican counterparts 3-0 to lift the World U-17 trophy for the historic fourth time at the Abu Dhabi Stadium, United Arab Emirates, saying it was only the President Jonathan that hosted boys upon their return from the African U-17 Championship, where they came second.

“This trophy is for President Goodluck Jonathan, who had a strong belief in us despite the fact that we came second at the African championship.

“We were really fired up when he hosted us after the African Championship and we are looking forward to meeting Mr. President again with the World Cup.” Manu Garba revealed.

Garba described President Jonathan as a very lucky man after the Golden Eaglets followed the footsteps of the Super Eagles for winning a major trophy in 2013.

The Coach also acknowledged the supports of Cross River State Governor, Liyel Imoke and the Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Ibrahim Auwalu who hosted the team to a wonderful victory reception yesterday night.
