The MKO International Airport, Ido Osun, Osun State which is under construction, is expected to be completed and delivered in May next year

CEOAFRICA gathered that the airport which is expected to emerge one with the longest runway in the country has a runway of 3.5 kilometres,surpassing the Murtala Mohammed International Airport and the Nnamdi Azikiwe international Airport, Abuja which has runway of 3 kilometres and 2.8 kilometres, respectively.

According to Abubakar Abuyaro, the Supervisor of the Aeronautical Engineering and Technical Services of the company handling the project, the largest part of the work on the airport is on runway, which progress has been slowed by the heavy rains witnessed so far this year.

The airport which is built to accommodate the Boeing 737 aircraft series is however being handled by a Turkish company, Slava Yeditepe.
